#Repost @SociabilityApp: "So many disabled people will feel like a burden at some point in their lives. Whether that’s within a relationship, friendship or just being out and about in the world asking for your access needs to be met!

The thing is everyone has access needs whether you’re disabled or not but the majority of non-disabled people’s access needs get met automatically.

Would we feel like burdens if access was a given? If we knew that of course there would be step-free access and of course, there would be an accessible toilet (that’s not used as a storage cupboard!)?

Would we feel like burdens if we had a decent social care system that supports disabled people long term? Supporting them to live independently and with dignity. If we had equal rights and access to the world?

Disabled people are not a burden, disability is not a burden, challenging at times yes 😂 but that doesn’t make us burdens.

Inaccessibility and outdated attitudes towards disability are the real burdens."

#Repost @KaranNNagrani: "🧑🏻‍🦯 Me‼️ If walking into things was an Olympic sport…🏆🥇🎖️🏅🏆 #Fact

Yes I have a cane, Yes I’ve undergone mobility training, yes I try and be careful… BUT I still walk into things allllllllllllllll the time. Even at home where I know where everything is I walk into things and sometimes I walk into things like mannequins, plants, chairs, floor signs and even say sorry!

Story of my life really 😂"

Trigger, thank you for your service. 🦮🫡 Enjoy your retirement! #BlindNewWorld

#Repost @WeRateDogs: "This is Trigger, but you can refer to him as `The Dogfather.` In the past 7 years, he has fathered 323 puppies with @GuideDogsUK, a nonprofit providing life-changing support, skills, and trained dogs to people living with sight loss in the UK.

Each of Trigger’s 39 litters had a different mom, and each one was bred with their health as top priority. They live in family homes, and every pregnancy is carefully planned and spaced. Trigger’s last litter was made up of five daughters named Jenny, Rita, Hermione, Sandy, and Indy and son Billy ... He’s also responsible for a record-breaking litter for Guide Dogs, when a German Shepherd mom gave birth to 16 of his puppies in November 2021 ... All 16 survived and thrived. At 9 years old, he’s officially retiring. 15/10 (courtesy @GuideDogsUK)
