Accessible money seems like an obvious way to foster everyday inclusion - so why isn`t it more common around the world? Thanks to Tamara for demonstrating the thoughtful elements built into Canadian currency. 🇨🇦 #BlindNewWorld

Braille makes the #BlindNewWorld sing - just ask the iconic Steve Wonder! ⬇️

#Repost @RNIB: "If you told us you had `RNIB Connect Radio talks to Stevie Wonder` on your 2024 bingo card a week ago, we’d have been… very superstitious 😏

He spoke to our Dave Williams about the importance of braille in his creative process.

Video description and transcript:

Audio and captions play over a photo of Dave Williams, who has white hair and is wearing a white shirt, with his arm around Stevie Wonder, who is wearing a black hat over long dreadlocks, big black sunglasses and a grey jacket. They are both smiling.

Dave:
Would you say you would have had the career that you had without braille?

Stevie:
Honestly, I would not have had the career that I’m enjoying were it not for me being able to use braille to express those words that I wanted to say and be able to read them and then sing them. To have something that I love be my job is such a blessing, but as well, to be able to have the various devices that I can write the lyric, various lyrics, to songs and then be able to read them, to store them, to go back to make changes in them and then have them forever. We’re hoping to actually have, pretty soon, an actual Braille library of all the various songs that I’ve written.

Dave:
Wow, that would be so wonderful.

Stevie:
And reading braille really is important. I mean, we can listen, hear things being said. But to be able to have the privacy of only your fingers and your mind being able to know what’s going on, it’s a good thing.

Dave:
You’re speaking to my heart. Yeah. I love braille. And everyday I use it, so important. You know, you connect with the content in a way that is very personal.

Stevie: Believe it."

Blind kids can... advocate for accessibility and inclusion in their community! Thanks to Owey, every Wendy’s in Canada now offers kids` menus in age-appropriate braille - and he has the t-shirt to prove it! 🍔 👕 #BlindNewWorld

#Repost @AilleDesign and @Oweys_Journey: "✨Meet Owey ✨ A young boy with a visual impairment who loves @Wendys! 🍟 He’s the reason we had the opportunity to create braille shirts for @WendysCanada, who then gifted the shirts to Owey and his family ❤️ But more importantly, because of Owey, every Wendy’s in Canada now offers kids menus in grade 1 uncontracted braille 😍

Owey’s passion sparked change when he noticed the previous menus at Wendy’s were difficult to read since they were in grade 2 uncontracted braille. Kudos to Owey and Wendy’s for making a difference 🎉

➡️ Did you know Wendy’s offers braille menus?"
